Migration und Prekarität in der Pandemie: Empirische Studien aus Deutschland und Österreich

This text discusses the "multiple precariousness” of migrant workers in the pandemic on the basis of empirical studies from Germany and Austria. It focuses on sectors that were publicly criticized for problematic working conditions during the Covid-19 crisis and at the same time experienced an economic boom. In view of the mass infections in such sectors, the question of health challenges arises, which the authors systematize with questions about the informalization of employment, an analysis of the connection between residence regimes, social rights and precariousness, as well as the discussion of the racialization of attributions in the work process. Finally, we look at the potential for change and the participation of workers who are confronted with "multiple precariousness”.Alternate :Dieser Text diskutiert anhand von empirischen Studien aus Deutschland und Österreich die „multiple Prekarität" migrantischer Arbeiter:innen in der Pandemie. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei Sektoren, die gerade auch in der Covid-19-Krise für problematische Arbeitsbedingungen öffentlich kritisiert worden sind und in genau dieser Zeit einen ökonomischen Boom erlebt haben. Es steht hier, angesichts der Masseninfektionen in solchen Sektoren, zunächst die Frage nach gesundheitlichen Herausforderungen im Raum, die wir sodann mit Fragen nach der Informalisierung von Beschäftigung, einer Analyse zum Zusammenhang zwischen Aufenthaltsregimen, sozialen Rechten und Prekarität sowie der Diskussion zur Rassifizierung von Zuschreibungen im Arbeitsprozess systematisieren. Zudem stellt sich die Frage nach Veränderungspotenzialen und Teilhabe von Arbeitenden, die mit „multipler Prekaritat" konfrontiert sind.

Things fall apart. The cultural complex in contemporary times1.

These extraordinary months due to COVID-19 and the Black Lives Matter protests, set as they are against a backdrop of the increasingly worrying climate emergency, have brought fear, anxiety and discord across the globe. But we have also experienced a deepening of our understanding of our connectedness, protests against injustice, expressions of social concern and a demand for change. The concept of the cultural complex as developed by Singer & Kimbles (2004) offers a helpful means of connecting the psychology of the individual psyche and the political phenomena of power relations. Using a small example to illustrate how it might operate at a local level, I suggest that a fundamental shift is taking place raising profound levels of anxiety as we move from the known to the unknown. The bipolar nature of these complexes means the extremes are surfacing bringing fears of the very real possibility of more entrenched attacks on democracy from the far right and the hunkering down behind armed borders. But there is also hope that different ways of living together may be developing from the ground up, ways that are rooted in our sense of interdependence - with each other and our planetary home.

Ces mois extraordinaires du fait de la COVID-19 et des manifestations du mouvement Black Lives Matter - sur un fond d'urgence de plus en plus inquiétante concernant le climat - ont généré de la peur, de l'angoisse et de la discorde dans le monde entier. Mais nous avons également fait l'expérience de l'approfondissement de notre compréhension de notre interdépendance, de manifestations contre l'injustice, d'expressions de sollicitude sociétale et de requête pour du changement. Le concept de complexe culturel tel qu'il apparait chez Kimbles et Singer (2004) offre un moyen utile de relier la psychologie de l'individu et le phénomène politique des relations de pouvoir. Utilisant un petit exemple pour illustrer comment cela fonctionnerait au niveau local, je suggère qu'un glissement fondamental se produit, qui fait venir à la surface des niveaux profonds d'angoisse tandis que nous passons du connu à l'inconnu. La nature bipolaire de ces complexes implique que les extrêmes font surface amenant des peurs liées à la possibilité tout à fait réelle d'attaques plus tenaces de la démocratie de la part de l'extrême droite et d'un retranchement derrière des frontières armées. Mais il existe aussi l'espoir que des manières différentes de vivre ensemble se développent à partir de la base, des manières enracinées dans un sentiment d'interdépendance - les uns envers les autres et envers notre maison planétaire.

Estos meses extraordinarios debido al COVID-19 y a las protestas del movimiento Black Lives Matter, sobre un fondo de preocupación creciente a raíz de la emergencia climática, ha traído miedo, ansiedad y desacuerdos a través del planeta. Pero también hemos experimentado una profundización en nuestra comprensión de nuestra conectividad, protestas contra la injusticia, expresiones de preocupación social y una demanda de cambio. El concepto de complejo cultural desarrollado por Kimbles y Singer (2004) ofrece una vía posible para conectar la psicología de la psique individual y el fenómeno político de las relaciones de poder. Utilizando un pequeño ejemplo para ilustrar como esto podría operar a nivel local, sugiero que está teniendo lugar un cambio fundamental, elevando profundos niveles de ansiedad a medida que nos movemos desde lo conocido a lo desconocido. La naturaleza bipolar de estos complejos significa que los extremos están emergiendo a la superficie, trayendo miedos a la posibilidad real de ataques más consolidados a la democracia desde la extrema derecha, y el acto de refugiarse detrás de fronteras armadas. Pero también hay esperanza de que puedan estar desarrollándose modos diferentes de convivencia desde la base, modos enraizados en nuestro sentido de interdependencia - con cada otro/a y con nuestro hogar planetario.

The archetype of the apocalypse. Analysing the pandemics of racism, COVID-19 and climate change.

What we are witnessing in the present time in human history, in the 2020's, is a vortex of intersecting pandemics - jolting revelations that are unfolding with a terrific energy and force - so much so that we cannot ignore them or escape them. These include the world-wide pandemics of racism, COVID-19 and climate change. This paper argues that all of these swirling pandemics are manifestations of the archetype of the apocalypse, which is constellating now in a very powerful way. Any one of these phenomena could swallow humanity whole as a species. Together they represent a seemingly overwhelming challenge for us to meet over the next century of life on earth. If humanity cannot meet the challenge of these combined negative forces, it could simply perish. A multi-layered intersecting set of challenges such as this has never yet occurred in human history. We must therefore be very alert to what is going on, and as to how we can consciously mediate these threats, both individually and collectively. It also presents an unprecedented opportunity for humanity to evolve and grow psychologically both individually and collectively, nationally and globally.

Ce dont nous sommes témoins à l'heure actuelle dans l'histoire de l'humanité, dans les années 2020, est un vortex de pandémies qui s'entrecroisent - des révélations choquantes qui se déploient avec une énergie et une force formidables - tellement que l'on ne peut les ignorer ou leur échapper. Cela inclue la pandémie mondiale de racisme, la COVID-19, et le changement climatique. Cet article soutient que toutes ces pandémies tourbillonnantes sont des manifestations de l'archétype de l'apocalypse, qui se constelle en ce moment de manière très puissante. Chacun de ces phénomènes pourrait avaler l'humanité toute entière en tant qu'espèce. Ensembles ils représentent un défi apparemment insurmontable auquel nous avons à faire face durant le siècle à venir de la vie sur terre. Si l'humanité ne peut pas faire face au défi de ces forces négatives combinées, elle pourrait tout simplement périr. Un tel ensemble - de défis qui s'entrecroisent sur plusieurs niveaux - ne s'est encore jamais produit dans l'histoire humaine. Ainsi nous devons être très vigilants à ce qui se passe, et à comment nous pouvons consciemment opérer une médiation de ces menaces, à la fois individuellement et collectivement. Cela représente également une opportunité sans précédent pour que l'humanité évolue et grandisse psychologiquement à la fois individuellement et collectivement, au niveau de la nation et globalement.

Lo que estamos atestiguando en el presente de la historia humana, en el año 2020, es un vórtice de pandemias entrecruzadas - revelaciones que sacuden y se despliegan con tremenda fuerza y energía - tanto que no podemos ignorarlas ni escapar de éstas. Estas incluyen la pandemia mundial del racismo, el COVID-19 y el cambio climático. El presente trabajo argumenta que todas estas turbulentas pandemias son manifestaciones del arquetipo del apocalipsis, el cual se está constelando en la actualidad de manera poderosa. Cualquiera de estos fenómenos podría tragarse a la humanidad entera como especie. Juntas representen un aparentemente abrumador desafío para nosotros, a confrontar durante el próximo siglo de vida en la tierra. Si la humanidad no puede afrontar los desafíos de estas fuerzas negativas combinadas, podría simplemente perecer. Nunca ha ocurrido en la historia humana, una intersección de desafíos como éstos, en múltiples niveles. Tenemos que estar muy alertas respecto a lo que está pasando, y sobre cómo podemos conscientemente mediar estas amenazas, ambas individual y colectivamente. También presenta una oportunidad sin precedentes para que la humanidad pueda evolucionar y crecer psicológicamente, tanto individual, como colectivamente, nacional y globalmente.
